Michael was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in September 1998 after completing his training at Duthie Hart & Duthie.
Michael then qualified as a Solicitor in October 2005 and was one of the founders of Emery Halil & Brown which opened in January 2002. He has helped form a strong and well respected large East End practice.
Michael has many years of experience as a criminal defence lawyer and has acted in a variety of criminal cases of all levels ranging from motor offences through to organised crime, the supply of significant quantities of drugs, firearms offences, causing death by dangerous driving, fraud and murder.
Michael is an experienced advocate in criminal proceedings and regularly appears in the Magistrates’ Courts representing the firm’s clients, as well as acting as Duty Solicitor.
Michael also advises and represents defendants in the Court Of Appeal.
As well as court work, Michael is also a member of the Police Station Duty Solicitor Panel and regularly attends police stations around the country to represent clients arrested for various offences.
